Description

Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program (RLP): Helps homeowners who are low-income make their homes safer, more livable, accessible, and energy-efficient. Eligible improvements include plumbing, electrical wiring, roofing, heating, accessibility modifications, and any repair needed to meet code requirements. Loans are deferred, with a lien on the property, and are forgivable after 15 years if the home remains the owner's primary residence. Mobile homes in parks have a 10-year term. Housing Accessibility/Emergency Loan Program (ELP): Assists homeowners with urgent repairs or essential accessibility improvements. Terms and eligibility match the Rehabilitation Loan Program, including deferred repayment and lien requirements. Programs are available to homeowners in Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Houston, Mower, Steele, and Winona counties.
