Child Protection Services - Norman County Social Services

Accepts and responds to and/or investigate reports of child abuse, neglect or abandonment. Services may include: - Accept reports of abuse - Assessment of the initial referral - Consultation to individuals who suspect abuse - Consultation with the family to determine the nature of the problem - Dependency investigation - Ongoing support services for children and their families - Temporary placement of children who are removed from the home - Works with the family toward unification or reunification NOTE: In addition to taking reports, child protection screeners are available to explain the reporting statues, answer questions regarding agency practices and discuss other resources and strategies when reports do not meet criteria for assignment for child protection investigation.
