- Mental Health Crisis Assessment and Referral: Individuals undergo an assessment by a mental health clinician. Once the assessment is done, a plan is made with Emergency Department health care providers to help the individual. Care may include:

- Admission to the hospital

- Information about additional resources

- Referral to a day treatment or partial hospital program

- Referral to a mental health provider at an outpatient clinic

- Return home with a crisis plan in place

- Transfer to another hospital
