- Counseling and support services include: - Advance directives - Coping with grief - Coping with terminal illness - Employee assistance programs - Financial concerns - Issues related to abuse, neglect and violence - Issues related to separation from family, friends and home - Parental and caregiver concerns - Support and psychotherapy related to diagnosis, illness adjustment, treatment, and recovery - Vocational concerns - Referrals to county, state, and federal agencies and other social and financial agencies - Information and resources concerning long-term or chronic health care needs, including: - Child life needs - Home care - Hospice care - Nursing homes - Identifies therapy options or illness support groups to assist with the patient's illness or injury - Offers many services to help individuals manage their condition and treatment - Discharge planning - Transportation: Arranges transportation by providing referrals and help with coordination. Information for discounted parking rates for extended stays andmedical transport options including ground and air ambulance. - Lodging: Connects to local hotels and motels offering a small discount for people who stay in Rochester for medical reasons. Many hotels in Rochester offer free shuttle service to Mayo Clinic buildings.
