High School College Preparatory Program - TRIO Upward Bound, University of Minnesota - College of Education and Human Development
College preparatory program for low income at-risk students with academic potential for post high school studies. Students attend Edison Senior High School, North Senior Academy, Patrick Henry High School, and South High Schools in Minneapolis. Students spend 5 weeks during the summer living at the university dormitories, attending classes, and related activities. Program includes: - Academic year courses in science, English, ACT and career prep, and college planning - Academic and personal counseling - Cultural and experiential activities - Tutorial assistance in high school subjects

Students and families can pick up applications from the respective high school or call to get one; intake of applications are annually during October - November

Eligibility
- Admissions has a focused outreach to high school students facing barriers living in Minneapolis target areas and attending Edison Senior High School, North Senior Academy, Camden High School, and South High Schools who are recommended by school counselors, teachers, principals, social workers, or employers. - In addition, eligible individuals are selected from a pool of students who meet the following program eligibility criteria: - Low to moderate family income - First-generation college student (neither parent has a bachelor's degree) - Show evidence of academic need
