Description

Provides programs for Grades K - 12 education such as: - American Indian Business Leaders (AIBL): A middle and high school entrepreneur program - Career counseling - Counseling Circle Program: For students grades 5 - 12. Provide assistance with issues preventing positive school and social outcomes. - Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) - Drum and dance community and classroom cultural presentations - Extracurricular activities/sports - Fun club with recreational activities like reading, videos, and outdoor games - Gifted and talented program - POWWOW Picz: Student-run entrepreneur business - National Honor Society: A high school, community service, leadership, and character-building program - Ojibwe Language and Culture Program: Integrates the Ojibwe language into the K-12 curriculum. Offers instruction on Ojibwe cultural activities such as ricing, netting, trapping, and maple sugaring. - Plato Program: Provides academic support, homework help, and recreational activities - Student Against Destructive Decisions (SADD): A peer leadership organization, aimed at decreasing incidents of underage drinking, drug use, impaired driving, Depression, and Suicide

Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe

Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe has a three-branch division-of-powers form of government, with an Executive Branch, Legislative Branch and Judicial Branch.

The Executive Branch departments provide services to Band members including administration, community development, education, health and human services, and natural resources.

The Judicial Branch preserves and maintains justice and accords equal rights, equal protection, and equal opportunity for Band members under Band laws and statutes.

The Band's Reservation consists of three districts composed of several distinct communities: District I, District II, District IIA, and District III.
