Emergency Preparedness Training - Minnesota Council on Disability - MCD

- Designs and delivers training to the disability community that emphasizes personal responsibility in an emergency - Organizes cross-disability awareness training for first responders by providing trainers from the Deaf, blind, senior, physically disabled, developmentally disabled and mental health communities. Trainings address such areas as disability myths and stereotypes, communication issues and appropriate interactions. - Provides disability/senior information to counties and municipalities to aid in their inclusion of persons with disabilities and seniors in their development of emergency plans
