Senior Community Service Employment Program - East Side Neighborhood Services
Promotes personal dignity and self-sufficiency for older, unemployed, low-income Americans by placing them in temporary part-time community service jobs at minimum wage. - Assessment of job skills for subsidized job placement - Subsidized employment and training program - Training provided to acquire new skills and improve on existing skills - Participants receive minimum wage while working 20 hours per week for nonprofit and government agencies - The goal is to improve the participants' skills to move to an unsubsidized job within one year

Administers a broad range of community based social services including: childcare (infants, toddlers, and preschool), summer camp, out-of-school time programs, an alternative high school, employment services for all ages, therapy services including creative arts therapy and a family healing program, food shelves across Hennepin County, transportation services, and classes for older adults including fitness and caregiving support. Also provides facility rental for meetings and events.
