Responds to and/or investigates reports of child abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Additonal services include:
  • Assessment of the initial referral???
  • Child welfare services
  • Consultation with individuals who suspect abuse
  • Consultation with the family to determine the nature of the problem
  • Extended foster care services
  • Minor parenting supports
  • Ongoing support services for children and their families
  • Parent Support Outreach Program (PSOP)
  • Prevention services for eligible families
  • Temporary placement of children who are removed from the home
  • Works with the family toward reunification if child is out of home
NOTE: In addition to taking reports, child protection screeners are available to explain the reporting statutes, answer questions regarding agency practices and discuss other resources and strategies when reports do not meet criteria for assignment for child protection investigation.
