Pro se Clinic - Mitchell Hamline School of Law
A group of students, alumni, and reference librarians volunteer to help individuals represent themselves in court. The clinic provides assistance with completing a self-help form for the following legal issues: - Child support modifications - Criminal expungement - Dissolution/divorce - Establishing custody and parenting time - Modifying parenting time Students and staff are trained to provide legal assistance with filling out the required paperwork in the areas above. The focus is on completing the paperwork; if an individual needs assistance outside of the areas above clinic staff will refer them to other resources. Staff cannot and will not serve as legal counsel or representation for anyone in court.

Child Support Modifications - Current child support order - Proof of income Criminal Expungement - Case file number of underlying charge Dissolution/Divorce - Notice of dissolution (if papers have already been filed) - Order for protection/Restraining order (if either spouse has one currently in place) - Demographic details for you and spouse - Current income information - Current debt information - Insurance information - Information about any property owned Establishing and Modifying Custody and Parenting Time - Current court documents relating to custody - Current court documents relating to child support - Demographic details for both parents - Documents relating to domestic issues like OFPs, CHIPS proceedings, etc.
