Acts as the focal point for overall coordination for all disasters occurring in or affecting Cottonwood County. Focuses on planning, training, conducting drills, testing equipment, coordinating activities, and community education. Also responsible for developing and maintaining the county emergency plan. It advises county officials on courses of action to be taken during an emergency. It coordinates the use of resources in response to emergencies and maintains communications with other emergency response personnel regarding emergency problems and issues.
