Provides assistance and support to veterans and their dependents in obtaining benefits through county, state, and federal programs including: - Burial benefits - Chemical dependency treatment - Dependency and indemnity compensation (DIC) - Pension - Home loan guarantees - State Subsistence: Financial assistance for basic dental and optical care, mortgage, personal needs, rent, and utilities for veterans who cannot work due to a temporary disability. - State veterans nursing homes - ??Veterans van: Transportation to Minneapolis VA Medical Center or Mankato VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic. Veterans vans travel on even days only with pick up and drop off points, and are not wheelchair accessible. The van cannot transport anyone with a serious or acute medical condition or those requiring continuous use of an oxygen tank.
