- Advise and educate the governor, state legislature, and other policy makers on issues confronting persons of African heritage - Cultural and historical programming to celebrate and preserve the artistic, cultural, and historical heritages of Minnesota's Black community - Serve as a liaison to local, state, and federal government - Serve as a referral agency to assist African Americans and native Africans to secure access to state agencies and programs - Research issues affecting African Americans and native Africans, publicize accomplishments of African Americans and native Africans and their contributions to Minnesota
