Description

Beverage cart - Serves complimentary refreshments to patients' family members and visitors. Canine Companion - Certified therapy dogs, with their handlers, visit patients and their families offering comfort and companionship. Canine Companion teams must be certified through a nationally-accredited therapy dog organization. Clinic Check-In Assistant - Helps patients and their families find appointment locations, understand any safety protocols that may be in place, guide patients through the virtual check-in at our lobby kiosk, and assist patients in, out, and around the facility. This may include pushing a wheelchair. Gift Box (gift shop) - Welcomes guests who are visiting or staying at the hospital, and assist in gift shop operations including stocking shelves, assisting customers to find the perfect gift, and working the cash register. Greeter - Assists patients/family members/visitors navigate OMC's patient care building. This position may require pushing a wheelchair. Music Enrichment - Provides gentle and relaxing music* to patients, visitors, and staff. Sewing and Crafts - Creates comfort items including blankets, newborn holiday stockings, tummy pillows, hats, and other projects for patients. Special Events - Assists during special events that are either hosted by OMC or attended by OMC staff and/or the Volunteer Coordinator. These events can include holiday and cultural festivals, community celebrations, volunteer recruitment, back to school events and more. Volunteers will speak to attendees about OMC and pass out logoed items. Spirituality Volunteers - Offers spiritual support to patients, family members, caregivers, staff, and others. Certified clergy or lay persons may provide visits. Spiritual care services include, but are not limited to, communion, companionship, spiritual counseling, last rites, prayer, and baptism.
