Community Development and Economic Development: Assists in recruiting new businesses to the City and provides sign permits

Engineering and Inspections Department: Ensures building code compliance and provides building permit applications including plumbing, heating, sewer, and water

Public Works: Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and construction of the city's infrastructure. Maintains streets, sidewalks, water, and sewer utilities. Provides well construction, city water quality and pressure, hydrant flushing, outdoor watering regulations, snow plowing, street sweeping, road weight restrictions, and street sign maintenance. Prior Lake Maintenance Center at 17073 Adelmann Street SE in Prior Lake is not open to the public. Compost site is located at 17073 Adelmann Street SE 10 am - 3 pm second and fourth Saturday of the month of April - October. Residents can drop off leaves, grass clippings, brush, and branches less than eight inches in diameter. Residents who experience a sewer backup and do not know where the blockage is should contact the city to have a Public Works employee determine the location of the problem before contacting a drain cleaning company.
