Adult foster homes: Provides private rooms for adults with severe and persistent mental illness with up to 3 other people in the household. Helps residents live their best life, staff work to build residents' skills in several key areas: - Behavior management skills, such as anger management, feeling identification, and relationship building - Daily living skills, such as cooking, laundry, and house cleaning - Independent living skills, such as checkbook management, bill paying, community integration, securing and maintaining a job - Social skills, such as interpersonal communications (with family, friends, acquaintances, co-workers, authority figures), grooming, politeness and etiquette, cooperation, compromise, conflict resolution, respect for personal space - Survival living skills, such as proper diet, medication management, medical health care, and personal hygiene
