Service area

Emergency Shelter and Day Center for people experiencing homelessness. Servants of Shelter operates a 5 apartment unit Family Shelter and a 7 unit adult shelter. Shelter guests receive Case Management and Housing Resource Navigation services during their 30-90 day stay. SOS operates a Day Center with laundry, showers, a communal kitchen, hygiene items, and more. SOS also operates two Permanent Supportive Housing programs for people living with disabilities who are also experiencing homelessness.

Emergency shelter, Permanent Support Housing, and drop in services program for persons experiencing homelessness in Koochiching County. SOS Maintains the only emergency shelter in the local area. Emergency housing options include overflow hotel stays, admittance into one of 5 apartment units at shelter for a maximum of 30-90 days while the guest works toward secure permanent housing. SOS also operates a 4 unit PSH building. SOS also offers multiple homeless services out of their office in the Backus Community Center.
