Eligibility
- Veterans and their dependents who are residents of Scott County- State Subsistence is available to a veteran or a surviving spouse if they are disabled and prevented from working at their normal occupation for at least 30 days or without a disabling medical condition within one year of the Veteran's death.

Provides assistance and support to veterans and their dependents in obtaining benefits through county, federal, and state programs, including: - Alcohol and drug dependency treatment- Burial and death benefits - Dental and optical vouchers for both qualified veterans and their spouses- Disability compensation - Discharge review- Education and training- GI Bill education training- GI life insurance- Home loan guaranteed by the USDVA- Job placement services- Medical assistance in veterans hospitals and grants for non-veteran hospitals- Mental health services- Outpatient medical care- Pension benefits- State Subsistence Assistance: Financial assistance for healthcare insurance premiums, personal needs funds, shelter-associated payments (association dues, homeowners' insurance, mortgage, rent, room and board, and property taxes), and utility assistance (cell phone, electric, gas, internet, propane, sanitation/sewer, and water).
