Eligibility

Individuals who wish to volunteer as a Guardian ad Litem in Blue Earth, Brown, Cottonwood, Faribault, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Martin, Murray, Nicollet, Nobles, Pipestone, Redwood, Rock, and Watonwan counties

8 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday

Application process

Prospective volunteers must complete an application, interview, and screening process, including a background check. Selected volunteers must complete approximately 40 hours of Guardian ad Litem training provided through the Minnesota Judicial Branch. After certification, volunteers are assigned cases as needed and are expected to commit to ongoing service, with caseloads and time commitments varying by judicial district.
