Sun Bucks - Summer Food Service Program - Statewide 2025

Income-based food support program that provides families with $120 per eligible school-aged child to buy groceries when school is out for the summer. SUN Bucks cards can be used just like an EBT card. Benefits can be used at authorized retailers, such as grocery stores and farmers markets, to purchase healthy foods such as fruits, vegetables, meats and other protein sources, whole grains, and dairy. SUN Bucks benefits will expire 122 days after the benefit availability date. NOTE: SUN Bucks cards will be mailed by June 17, 2025 for children who are automatically enrolled (visit website for information on children who are automatically enrolled)

Eligibility

- Children ages 7 - 17 who have a member of their household that participates in any of the following programs are automatically enrolled: Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), Medical Assistance (MA), Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) - Children ages 7 - 17 who are in foster care, homeless, migrant, or runaway - Children ages 7 - 17 whose family meets income requirements (visit website for income requirements: https://dcyf.mn.gov/sun-bucks)
