Medical Assistance for Employed Persons with Disabilities promotes competent employment and the economic self-sufficiency of people with disabilities by assuring continued access to Medical Assistance for necessary health care services. MA-EPD allows working people with disabilities to qualify for MA under higher income and asset limits than regular MA. The goal of the program is to encourage people with disabilities to work and enjoy the benefits of being employed. MA-EPD pays for the same services as regular Medical Assistance, including: - Home care services - Inpatient hospital services - Medical equipment services - Mental health services - Personal assistance services - Physical, occupational and speech therapy - Physician and health clinic visits - Prescription drugs

Fee

People with incomes, earned and unearned, equal to or above 100 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPG) must pay a premium based on a sliding fee scale. There is no maximum income limit or maximum premium amount. Sliding Scale

Eligibility

Primarily serves Lake of the Woods County Be certified disabled by either the Social Security Administration or the State Medical Review Team. Be at least 16 but under 65 years of age. Be employed. Not be eligible for Medical Assistance under other, more beneficial categories. Meet the asset limit of $20,000. Pay a premium, if required.
