Help for Crime Victims and Witnesses - Scott County Attorney's Office

- Ensures that victims of crimes receive written notice of their legal rights and timely notice of court appearances - Provides notice to victims, witnesses and police officers of the results of each case - Provides victims with information on community resources and referrals to other agencies or organizations - Strives to keep victims fully informed of important developments in their cases and affords them the opportunity to express their concerns and to have their questions answered - Seeks restitution for losses suffered by crime victims - Victim/witness coordinator and victim/witness staff help victims and witnesses understand the trial process and assist victims and witnesses in their trial participation and preparation of victim impact statements for sentencing hearings
