Adult Education - Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency (AEOA) - Employment and Training

Provides a full spectrum of learning options for community members in person and online. Adult Education services include: - Basic skills (math, reading, and writing) and computer training - Budgeting and financial literacy - GED preparation - Interview skills - Citizenship - College and career preparation - Creating a resume - English Language Learning (ELL)/English as a Second Language (ESL) -Industry-specific training such as entrepreneur training, carpentry, pre-apprenticeship, SerySafe food manager certification, para-professional certification Adults set their own goals and work at their own pace. Instructors help adults explore and achieve their education goals.

Eligibility

Residents of Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake, and Saint Louis counties who are ages 17 and older; are not enrolled in or required to be in any school in the K - 12 system; lack a secondary high school credential and/or function below the 12th-grade level in any of the basic academic areas including reading, math, and ability to read, write, and understand English
