A nurse home visiting program to work toward the improvement of: - Family economic self-sufficiency - Maternal and child health well being - Prevention of child abuse or maltreatment - Prevention of childhood injuries and reduction of emergency department visits - Reduction in a crime or domestic violence - Referrals to other community resources and supports - School readiness NOTE: Nurse-Family Partnership works by having specially trained nurses regularly visit young, first-time moms-to-be, starting early in the pregnancy, continuing through the child’s second birthday
