Aging Services and Volunteer Opportunities - A.C.E. of Southwest Minnesota

Provides opportunities for older adults to use their skills, talents, and life experiences to support people in their community. Functions as a large volunteer network connecting older adults with meaningful service roles.

Volunteer opportunities include driving, escorting, children and youth services, education and mentoring, environmental projects, public safety, health and human services, libraries, and museums.

Services and programs include:

- A Matter of Balance: Education series that emphasizes practical strategies to reduce fear of falling and increase activity levels

- Bone Builders: Exercise and nutrition program to prevent and manage osteoporosis

- Caregiver respite and support

- Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP)

- Friendly Visiting: Companion program for adults age 60+ offering peer support and social connection

- Living Well programs: Including Living Well with Chronic Conditions, Diabetes, and Chronic Pain

- Powerful Tools for Caregivers: Self-care education for family caregivers

- Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL): Strength, balance, and fitness program

- Telephone Reassurance Program: Regular check-in calls to support safety and social connection
