Public health nurses, nutritionists and other professionals are available to make home visits. Frequency of visits and length of time per visit are agreed upon by family and nurse, depending upon needs of the family. Services: - After Home Care: Suggestions for exercise program, mother's health needs, parenting education, newborn care, nutritional needs, and infant growth and development - Breast feeding assistance - Child's growth and development, and child rearing questions - Guidelines for parents to provide safe care and a healthy environment for their child - Health information on pregnancy and pregnancy care - Healthy Families America parenting program for first time parents who wish to improve their parenting skills - Identification of problems and early intervention activities in conjunction with families and schools to assist families with special needs children ages birth - six - Nutritional assessment, counseling and education - Physical development screening - Prenatal health needs including nutrition, weight gain, balance of rest and exercise, and substance use - Preparation of labor and delivery - Prevention of child maltreatment - Special care for high risk pregnant women - Supportive community resources
