Eligibility

Families who are low-income with students in public education (K - 12) and are residents of Blue Earth, Brown, Carver, Cottonwood, Dakota, Dodge, Faribault, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Houston, Jackson, Le Sueur, Martin, McLeod, Mower, Murray, Nicollet, Nobles, Olmsted, Pipestone, Ramsey, Redwood, Rice, Rock, Scott, Sibley, Steele, Wabasha, Waseca, Washington, and Watonwan counties

Required documents

- Have all documents pertaining to the legal issues including any paperwork received concerning the case available before calling for screening - If the individual is a refugee or other eligible alien, then I-94, permanent resident card, etc. is needed for service

Provides advice and representation on education-related problems, with a focus on: - Bullying and harassment in schools - Education of English language learners - Education of students experiencing homelessness - Racial discrimination and bias in schools - School expulsions and some suspensions - Special education services for students with disabilities
