Hennepin County provides two grant programs that improve the livability for homeowners and a low or no interest loan program for home repairs and maintenance: Accessibility Ramps: Offers grants of up to $10,000 for installation of home accessibility ramps or low-rise steps that enable persons with a disability or mobility challenges to continue leading independent lives in the homes. Lead-Based Paint Program: Offers grants of up to $10,000 for the detection and removal of lead-based paint in owner-occupied or rental housing built before 1978 Note: Grants provided for up to $15,000 for detection and removal of lead-based paint in owner-occupied or rental housing built before 1978

Eligible repairs include plumbing, electrical, painting, windows, doors, siding, roof replacement, accessibility improvements for interior, of the home or providing ramp to the exterior of the home.
