Please Note: Think Small administers Child Care Assistance for Ramsey County. The program is currently not funded to accept new applicants but is adding them to a waiting list. The anticipated wait time for assistance is two years. To be added to the waiting list, or if currently receiving assistance and have changes to report, or if moving into Ramsey County from another county where they were receiving assistance, leave a voicemail and a caseworker will call back within 2-3 days. - Assistance with paying child care costs for children up to age 12 and for children with special needs up to age 14. Child care costs may be paid for families while parents work, look for work or attend school. Family size, family income and participation in authorized activities, as well as available funding, are considerations in determining the amount of the assistance. - Basic Sliding Fee Child Care Assistance program serves families that do not meet criteria for MFIP, DWP, or Transition Year Child Care programs. Generally this program has a wait list.
