Adult Education provides adults with educational opportunities to acquire and improve literacy skills to become self-sufficient, proud employees, family members, and citizens. Adult Education offers the following classes: English Language Learning (ELL): ELL classes are designed for adults who are new to the English language and U.S. culture. Instruction focuses on communication for everyday life, such as the workplace, for all levels of English speakers. Skills include reading, writing, speaking, and listening. High School Equivalency Preparation: High School Equivalency preparation is offered for eligible adults looking to obtain their High School Equivalency Diploma. Basic Skills Courses: Classroom opportunities are available for native and foreign-born community members. Instruction is personalized and based on the goals of each learner. Basic skills courses offer classes in the following areas: - Grammar, punctuation, and writing - Fractions, percents, and decimals - Reading fluency and comprehension - Preparation for college or technical school - Preparation for the workforce - Study for driver's written test in English for driving class ?- Understand and practice fundamentals in basic computer skills class
