Description

Treatment begins with an evaluation where problem areas are identified and a personalized plan of care is developed incorporating the individual's goals in order to return them to their highest attainable level of function and independence as soon as possible. Treatment includes patient education to allow them to better understand their condition or injury, and learn methods of prevention such as exercises or body mechanics to limit the possibility of re-injury or re-occurrence. Treatments may involve manual therapy techniques such as: - Exercise for core stability and total body conditioning via circuit training - Joint mobilizations - Muscle energy - Strain counter-strain - Use of modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, infrared light and electrical stimulation - Wound management
