  • Oversees all residential and commercial building permits
Election
  • Ballot information; election information; register to vote; serving as an election judge; voting absentee/voting early
Engineering
  • Responsible for the planning, design, management, and construction of the City's infrastructure, including streets, storm, sanitary, water, and street lighting
Finance
  • Coordination and planning of all City financial information, including annual budget and tax levy
  • Process accounts receivable, accounts payable, and utility billing
License and Permit
  • Animal, fence, and parking permit
Planning and Zoning -Responsible for adhering to the City's Comprehensive Plan, subdivision regulations, and zoning codes
  • Review land use plans and administer land use control ordinances and zoning enforcement
Public Works
  • Coordinate and manage all of the activities associated with the operation and maintenance of the city's facilities, infrastructure, and properties, including community garden, parks and trails, sanitary sewer system, snow removal, street repair, street signs, storm sewers, and water mains

  • Yard waste/compost site: 800 Buffalo Ave S (1/4 mile south of the stoplights on the east side of the road inside the fenced area), available only to residents of Montrose. Yard waste includes acorns, apples, corn stalks, firewood (up to 2-inch diameter), garden vegetation, grass clippings, leaves, pine cones, pumpkins, shrubs, and tree branches.
