Eligibility
Residents of Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake, and Saint Louis counties who are ages 17 and older must meet eligibility criteria:
  • Are not enrolled in or required to be in any school in the K-12 system
  • Lack a secondary high school credential and/or function below the 12th-grade level in any of the basic academic areas, including reading, math, and the ability to read, write, and understand English

Provides a full spectrum of learning options for community members in person and online. Adult Education services include:
  • Basic skills (math, reading, and writing) and computer training
  • Budgeting and financial literacy
  • GED preparation
  • Interview skills
  • Citizenship
  • College and career preparation
  • Creating a resume
  • English Language Learning (ELL)/English as a Second Language (ESL)
-Industry-specific training such as entrepreneur training, carpentry, pre-apprenticeship, ServSafe food manager certification, and para-professional certification Adults set their own goals and work at their own pace. Instructors help adults explore and achieve their education goals.
