Works to prevent, protect against, quickly respond to, and recover from health emergencies. Emergencies include:
  • Acts of bioterrorism
  • Effects of severe weather, natural disasters, and power outages
  • Incidents resulting in mass casualties
  • Infectious disease outbreaks/pandemics
  • Toxic chemical or radiological releases
Also provides information about emergency go-kits.
