General Crime Victim Advocacy Services - Cornerstone

A range of advocacy and crisis intervention for victims, families, and community members affected by crime and violence. Examples of general crime include burglary, identity theft, homicide, robbery, fraud, auto theft, and bias/hate crimes. An advocate will reach out to the individual to assess and gather any additional information needed. The monetary Emergency Victim Assistance (EVA) limit is $1000 but not all cases will call for the full amount. Services eligible for Emergency Victim Assistance (EVA): - Car repairs that are the result of auto theft, carjacking, vandalism, and car repairs essential for the safety and function of the vehicle - Eyeglass replacement due to assault or theft - Gift cards for food and basic personal items - Reimbursement of up to $1000 for qualifying services with receipt/documentation - Reimbursement of replacement costs for items such as vehicle plates and identification - Rent/mortgage assistance due to harassment, direct gun violence, threats, or targeted danger - Transportation in the form of Uber, Lyft, or Metro Transit gift card NOTE: The program does not assist with cases involving domestic violence, sexual violence, and/or child abuse
