HUD Housing Choice Voucher Program - Mental Health Resources

The Section 8 Mainstream Program (Housing Choice Voucher Program) is a federally funded (HUD) program to assist low-income households (single individuals or families) in which the head of household (or spouse) has a disability. Mental Health Resources (MHR) and South Metro Human Services (SMHS) have been awarded 75 vouchers each. MHR administers the vouchers on behalf of both agencies and for this purpose is designated a Public Housing Agency (PHA).

Application process

Pre-applications will be taken to expand the waiting list when there are openings. Notification will be published, printed, mailed and distributed electronically in the community when the list can be expanded in accordance with HUD requirements.

- Household income is 50% or less of area's median income, and the head of household (or spouse) is disabled - Serves Hennepin and Ramsey counties
