General Assistance (GA) provides single adults and childless couples with monthly cash grants for vulnerable persons whose income and resources are less than program limits. GA participants are also eligible for help with medical costs through the Medical Assistance (MA) programs and Food Support.

Eligibility
Single adults, ages 18 - 64, or couples (without children) who are Hennepin County residents and meet the income and asset limits. Participants must have lived in Minnesota for at least 30 days, be unable to work for at least 45 days, have little or no income or other resources, do not currently receive Supplemental Security Income, and do not have a minor, dependent child living in the household. Additional eligibility requirements may apply.
