Description
A chemical use assessment is required to access public funding for chemical dependency treatment. Its purpose is to determine whether an individual may have a drinking or drug problem. The assessment includes an interview with a licensed assessor to review substance use and its impact on daily life and relationships, and to determine whether treatment is needed and, if so, which type of treatment would be most beneficial.
