Ramsey County Family Shelter Intake - Coordinated Access to Housing and Shelter CAHS - Ramsey County
A central intake for homeless families within Ramsey County that provides homeless or at-risk of homeless assessments, information and connect FHPAP- eligible households to applicable resources. Families in need of emergency shelter should call United Way 211 to gain access area shelters. To gain entry into supportive housing, families in a shelter will work with a housing assessor to determine eligibility. Families living in shelters that CAHS does not fill (such as Sharing and Caring Hands, Domestic Violence Shelters, or Naomi Family Residence's Housing Plus Program) should contact CAHS to determine if they are eligible for a housing assessment. Availability in shelters is usually limited. Families will be placed on a waiting list if nothing is available.
