Description

Provides free telephone consultation services of up to 30 minutes with a volunteer attorney who need help representing themselves. The clinic offers free brief legal advice for people who represent themselves in appeals to the Minnesota Court of Appeals or Minnesota Supreme Court. The attorneys are not obligated to represent individuals and their case. However, the attorneys may help individuals with: - Answering questions about deadlines, papers needed to file, fee waivers, motions, appellate briefs, and serving the other party - Free legal advice during the clinic session but will not represent people in their legal case - Understanding the rules and procedures when filing an appeal with the Minnesota Court of Appeals NOTE: Attending the clinic does not extend an individual's time to appeal their case
