Affordable Home Ownership Opportunities - Alexandria Housing and Redevelopment Authority

Alexandria HRA builds home sites throughout the city of Alexandria contracts for the contruction of new single-family homes within the building enforcement area of the City. Homes are built by licensed contractors and are inspected by certified building inspector officials from the city of Alexandria. Homes are typically one bathroom and two or three bedrooms and prices of the home typically ranges $155,000 to $170,000.

Financing is available through HRA. HRA offers GAP financing to help in purchasing a home. The loan is a deferred 30-year loan and maximum loan amount is $15,000 per household. There is no interest associated with this loan. At the time of loan payoff, the borrower is only required to pay the original amount of the funds back to the HRA in one lump sum.
