Description

- DARE has become a regular part of every 5th graders education in Itasca County - Police officers spend one hour a week for 17 weeks teaching youth various ways of resisting drugs, alcohol and tobacco abuse as well as violence - Officers will follow a structured curriculum that focuses not only on drug use/misuse and personal safety, but also stress on building self-esteem and handling peer pressure - Local law enforcement staff have received 90 hours of training to facilitate the program - It is also available in every 5th grade class in every school district in Itasca County
