Employment Preparation - Twin Cities RISE!

- 18 years or older; reside in the State of Minnesota and be able to attend classes in Minneapolis or Saint Paul - Have a Federal Adjusted Gross income of $25,000 or less in the year prior to the year of application - Be willing and able to work full-time (40 hours per week) - Be legally able to work in the United States - Know basic written and spoken English - Not have a criminal sexual conduct or arson conviction (other convictions are acceptable)

8:30 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Thursday 8:30 am - 3:30 pm Friday

- Call; if eligible, applicants complete and sign program eligibility intake form. Complete an application online or download and print and mail, fax or drop off completed application at either office. Applicant should plan to attend a 90-minute information session. Call for an appointment. - After the information session applicants meet for a personal interview with a work skills coach. This interview will last approximately 30 minutes. If admitted, applicant is assigned a personal work skills coach and notified of acceptance by phone and mail. - Orientations occur during the week prior to the start of the upcoming class session.

Description

Employment program prepares low-income adults for skilled jobs. Program includes: - Work skills training: Courses including basic computer skills, communication, critical thinking, customer service, and more - Personal empowerment: Courses with an emphasis on developing habits and attitudes of personal stability, responsibility, and professional success - One-on-one coaching: An individual coach works with each participant during the program, job search, and a year into employment - Internship opportunities: Participants gain experience and boost their resumes during internships at local nonprofits and companies - Employment placement: Participants culminate their training program with a full time, living wage position
