Monthly Homestrech workshops cover the home-buying process from start to finish and are designed to help participants become informed and prepared consumers. Workshops also utilize the current knowledge of local industry professionals with guest speakers including local loan officers, realtors, home inspectors, closing agents, and home insurance professionals. Counseling: Offers free private and confidential one-on-one professional advice to help participants achieve their dream of homeownership. Counselors will work with participants to: - Address credit problems that could prevent participants from getting a mortgage - Create a customized action plan with specific, manageable steps to help clients achieve their goals - Determine affordability - Develop a spending and savings plan - Find the right mortgage product for the participant's needs - Provides participants with a free copy of their credit report that includes a credit score
