- Deals with complaints about transportation issues that people have been unable to resolve through other channels. The Ombudsman is an independent, neutral, and informal official who will do fact finding on complaints and assist in finding solutions. - After reviewing the case, if the Ombudsman determines that the MNDOT made an error, was unfair, or a prior procedure had an unintended result, the findings and options will be discussed with the Commissioner who will make the final decision. - Recommendations for resolving a dispute may include making, modifying, or reversing a decision or action because a policy or procedure had an unintended result; developing or modifying a process to mitigate or eliminate future conflict; or referring disputes to those trained in alternative dispute resolution techniques.
