Needs Assessment - PrairieCare

A face-to-face or virtual interview with a counselor to help determine which level of care is most appropriate for that person. A Needs Assessment is not a full psychiatric evaluation, but rather a comprehensive assessment which determines appropriate mental health services to address the individual's needs: outpatient clinic services, intensive outpatient programs, partial hospitalization, inpatient hospital programs, residential treatment, or substance abuse treatment.

- Phone/In-Person: 8 am - 4 pm Monday - Friday - Virtual Assessments: 8 am - 4 pm/7 days a week - Crisis needs assessments can sometimes be done during weekend hours

Application process

- Call, a typical Needs Assessment interview lasts between 60-90 minutes. After the interview, the assessment counselor will review the information with a psychiatrist to determine recommendations.
