Minnesota Medical Association is a professional organization for licensed physicians - affiliated with the American Medical Association (AMA). Services for members include: - Provides continuing education, seminars, and reports for member physicians - Group insurance programs - members only - Public health education and materials - Program for disabled physicians - deals with chemical dependency and other problems experienced by physicians - Works with government agencies in advisory capacity - Medical student loans - Clearinghouse for physician referral sources and accreditation information - Advocate for physicians on a wide range of advocacy topics including scope of practice, contracting, medical malpractice, and public health and safety issues - Making sure all Minnesotans have access to high quality health care - Represents physicians before regulatory agencies and works with third party payers to reduce administrative hassles and solve problems - Active role in the AMA
