Professional Association - Minnesota Medical Association

The Minnesota Medical Association is a professional organization for licensed physicians, affiliated with the American Medical Association (AMA). Services for members include:

• Active role in the AMA

• Advocate for physicians on a wide range of advocacy topics, including scope of practice, contracting, medical malpractice, and public health and safety issues

• Clearinghouse for physician referral sources and accreditation information

• Group insurance programs - members only

• Making sure all Minnesotans have access to high quality health care

• Medical student loans

• Program for disabled physicians - deals with chemical dependency and other problems experienced by physicians

• Provides continuing education, seminars, and reports for member physicians

• Public health education and materials

?- Represents physicians before regulatory agencies and works with third party payers to reduce administrative hassles and solve problems

• Works with government agencies in an advisory capacity
