Adult, Children, and Family Services - Arc Northland

Provides support through group meetings, one to one connections, information, individual advocacy, and education. Services include: Information & Referral - Assistance with navigating and connecting to resources Adult Advocacy - People First: Assists adults ages 18 and older to grow in self-advocacy skills, participate in the communities where they live, and engage legislatively with elected officials and candidates - Assists adults who are experiencing discrimination in the workplace, housing, education, and the justice system - Collaborates with other service providers in supporting individuals Education & Training - Disability Equality Training Series (DETS): Participants strengthen their self-advocacy and assert communication skills; explore their values and strengths; and learn about disability legislation. - VRS Community Partner: Assists with Independent Living Skills (Adults) and Pre-Employment Transition Skills (Transition Age) for individuals who are seeking employment. - Healthy Relationships: Supports children and adults with disabilities of all genders and sexual orientations. Healthy Relationships sessions include: - Respect - Communication - Different types of relationships - How to maintain relationships - Personal boundaries, values and comfort zones - Safety - Personal choice - Consent - Who is my safe person? - Self-Advocacy Training and Support Groups
