ABE classes include: - Adult high school diploma program - Applications and forms - Basic reading for individuals who can't read or have low reading skills - English as a Second Language (ESL) - GED (High School Equivalency) classes - Individualized learning - Job skills - One-to-one help in reading, math, social studies, science, and writing - Practice tests - Prepare for vocational school or college - Reading, writing, spelling and math skills - Refugee services, family literacy, and parenting skills - Write checks and balance a checkbook

Eligibility

Persons ages 16 and older not enrolled or required to be enrolled in secondary school who are residents of Brown, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Pipestone, and Redwood counties. Who also qualify under one or more of the following conditions: 1. Are unable to speak, read or write English 2. Do not have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent and have not achieved an equivalent level of education 3. Lack sufficient mastery of basic educational skills to enable the person to function effectively in society
