Second Step Clubhouse - Blue Earth County Human Services

Second Step Clubhouse is a Community Support Program (CSP) and resource center for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI) which provides: - Opportunities for members to share ownership and responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Clubhouse - A healthy, safe environment for members to learn or regain skills through structured groups and social / recreational activities with an emphasis on member strengths and abilities - A recovery focus which allows members to educate and empower themselves to take charge of their mental illness

- Weekend Schedule: 1 pm - 5 pm (Social/Recreational Time) Saturday - Sunday - Weekday Schedule: 1 pm - 1:30 pm (Clubhouse Duties), 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm, (Structured Groups), 2:30 pm - 5 pm (Social/Recreational Time) Monday - Friday

Application process

- Call and set up a tour of the Clubhouse - Complete all required paperwork; Clubhouse Intake form and Release of Information form - Attend New Member Orientation

Required documents

Copy of a current diagnostic assessment and letter of support from a mental health professional such as a case manager, psychiatrist, or therapist

Eligibility

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria: - Adult (18 or older) - Meets the criteria as having a serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI) - Actively working with a mental health support service, including Adult Mental Health Case Management and/or clinical services such as psychiatric services or therapy - Not considered to pose a significant or immediate threat to the general safety of the Clubhouse community
